Acer's Portable and Gaming Monitor Lineup at Computex 2025

At Computex 2025, Acer showcased its monitor lineup that spans from dual-screen portable displays to ultra-fast 500 Hz gaming monitors, and we couldn't miss the opportunity to take a quick look at these products. We start with the Nitro PG271K, a 27-inch "portable" gaming monitor (as much as a 27-inch monitor can be portable) with an IPS panel with dual-resolution modes. You can make it run at 4K (3840 x 2160) resolution with 72 Hz refresh rate, or you can change it to FHD (1920 x 1080) with 144 Hz refresh rate with 0.5 ms response time for some gaming sessions. It has a kickstand and VESA mount holes for different mounting options and include USB-C and HDMI connections.

In the same portable section we founded Acer PD243YE. This is a dual-screen portable monitor with two 23.5-inch screens stacked on top of each other. Both screens are 1080p IPS panels. The top screen tilts from 0 to 315 degrees on hinges, which gives you a lot of setup flexibility. Connects via USB-C or HDMI.

MSI's New QD-OLED and Fast-IPS Gaming Monitors Debut at Computex 2025

MSI did a complete refresh of its gaming monitors here at Computex 2025, and they managed to catch our attention when we first stopped at MSI's booths. Beside the MAG 27IQR QD‑OLED X50 monitor that uses AI human detection to prevent burn-in, we see the MAG 272QP QD-OLED X50. The latter comes with a 26.5-inch 2560 x 1440 resolution display, using the same Samsung 3rd-gen QD-OLED panel and sporting a 500 Hz refresh rate. It's certified by VESA for ClearMR 21000 and DisplayHDR True Black 500. While it's missing the AI Care sensor of the MAG 27IQR, it does feature OLED Care 2.0 technology to prevent burn-in and extend the panel's lifespan. Console gamers will find full support here with HDMI 2.1 48 Gbps bandwidth ports, 120 Hz refresh rate, ALLM and VRR for next-gen consoles.

Introduced last Friday, we spotted MSI's latest 27-inch Mini-LED dual mode gaming monitor named MPG 274URDFW E16M. The monitor uses a Rapid IPS panel with Dual Mode functionality, offering 160 Hz at UHD and 320 Hz at FHD with a 0.5 ms (GtG, Min.) response time. The Mini-LED and Quantum Dot technology boasts the monitor's contrast and brightness with 1,152 full-array local dimming zones. On the connectivity side, the MPG 274URDFW E16M offers HDMI 2.1, DisplayPort 1.4a, and USB Type-C with 98 W Power Delivery. The monitor also features 44 LEDs (a new MSI design) with Mystic Light support for customizable RGB effects, and a 4-way adjustable stand. For configuring the monitor, MSI included its AI Navigator feature with AI Menu for customized display settings that automatically activate when a game is launched.

MSI's MAG 27IQR QD‑OLED X50 Uses AI Human Detection to Prevent Burn‑In

At Computex 2025, we stopped by MSI's booth to see what the company has prepared. An interesting oddball was the MAG 27IQR QD‑OLED X50 monitor. The monitor carries a 27-inch form factor with a 2560 × 1440 QD‑OLED panel that churns through ultra‑vivid colors (99 % DCI‑P3) and true, inky blacks under a DisplayHDR True Black 500 badge, while an impressive 500 Hz refresh rate and 0.03 ms gray‑to‑gray response time ensure every twitch and turn appears without blur or ghosting. MSI embedded a dedicated AI Care sensor, which detects when you approach the monitor to wake up, when you leave the monitor to lock the system, detects brightness levels in the room to auto-adjust, and controls the dimming and color temperature of the picture based on ambient conditions.

This AI Care technology, which also makes usage easier, prevents OLED burn-in by turning off the monitor when it's unnecessary. All of this combined extends the required panel refresh cycle from 16 to 24 hours and helps guard against burn‑in. That forward‑thinking approach is backed by a three‑year QD‑OLED warranty that explicitly covers burn‑in, and MSI's handy AI Navigator gives you on‑the‑fly control over all these features. Other specifications like NVIDIA G‑SYNC certification keep tearing out of sight, and the DisplayPort 2.1 input even handles up to 80 FPS at UHD 120 Hz for next‑gen rigs or consoles.

BOE showed off a 500 Hz desktop display earlier this, but this is a step up from that. The foldable OLED laptop display measures 17.3-inches and is as such similar to products we've seen from Samsung.

Also on display at the event was a 34-inch Mini-LED gaming display with a 165 Hz refresh rate, a 1 ms response time and it's said to meet the DisplayHDR 1000 standard and should have a contrast ratio of 100,000:1. BOE calls its Mini-LED displays for α-MLED and the company also had an 86-inch TV display based on the same technology at the event. It's unknown if any of these displays will appear in consumer products outside of the Chinese market, although BOE laptop panels have been used in products sold globally.

ASUS Reveals 500 Hz ROG Swift Esports Monitor With E-TN Panel and G-Sync

Back in 2012, ASUS released the world's first ever 144 Hz monitor, and we've been chasing high refresh rates ever since. From the first 240 Hz NVIDIA G-SYNC display we released in 2017 to the first 360 Hz display in 2020, ROG is committed to pushing competitive gaming to new heights at every opportunity. Now, we're ecstatic to announce that we've done it again: introducing the ROG Swift 500 Hz, a groundbreaking new gaming monitor that refreshes 500 times per second, for the most fluid, fast-paced motion you'll find in modern Esports.

In competitive, intense firefights, every single millisecond counts. The ROG Swift 500 Hz draws frames more than eight times faster than typical 60 Hz displays in a single second, which means you have that much more time to get a leg up on your opponent in esports titles like Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, Valorant, Overwatch, and Rainbow Six Siege. With super low response times and unprecedented improvements in input lag, the ROG Swift 500 Hz is the new benchmark in Esports, offering the same competitive advantage that made its 360 Hz predecessor the official display at last year's DOTA 2 The International championship. The ROG Swift 500 Hz features a 24.1-inch Full HD (1920x1080) panel, allowing your GPU to push as many frames as possible. ROG was able to push refresh rates to the limit by using new Esports TN (E-TN) technology, which offers 60% better response times than standard TN panels, allowing us to reach a new milestone in speed and clarity.
