At Computex 2025 in Taipei, boutique chassis maker APNX presented two striking new enclosures, the V2-F and the V2. Both models combine bold aesthetics with advanced cooling and cable-management features. The V2-F captures attention with its panoramic glass front and side panels, offering an unobstructed view of every internal component. Beneath its elegant exterior, the chassis supports two 360 mm radiators and up to 13 fan slots to ensure exceptional thermal performance even under sustained heavy loads. Builders will value its flexible internal layout, which includes swappable PSU and HDD trays. In addition, users can mount a 360 mm AIO cooler vertically or horizontally, adapting to individual airflow needs. Cable routing remains neat thanks to a detachable silver-finished motherboard cable cover that keeps wiring organized without sacrificing style.

ID-Cooling is known to be a specialist when it comes to thermal solutions, offering an extensive portfolio of products to keep your PC components cool. We headed toward their booth here at Computex 2025 expecting to see firsthand what they have on display as cooling solutions, and yes, the booth was packed with both new and updated products.

The SL360 V2 Plus AIO now features a unique expanded radiator, you can clearly see that ID-Cooling has enlarged the radiator and also added a thick side-frame to the fans. This way they increased the actual active fin-area of the radiator so that the three AP-120 fans are able to cool it better. The SL360 V2 Black/White variants use 120 mm x 28 mm fans (previous SL360 used 25 mm thick fans) without the expanded radiator from the Plus model. Both AIOs sport the same 2.1-inch circular LCD display and ARGB lighting.

Sapphire brought unique new hardware to Computex 2025. We begin our tour with the new Sapphire Edge AI line of mini PCs. First up, is the Edge AI 370, a mini PC measuring 117 mm x 111 mm x 30 mm (WxDxH). It is powered by AMD Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 "Strix Point" mobile processor, with two DDR5 SO-DIMM slots supporting up to 96 GB of memory. Storage comes from a 1 TB Gen 4 NVMe SSD. The CPU is configured with 12 cores (4x Zen 5 + 8x Zen 5c), while the maxed out RDNA 3.5 iGPU has 16 CU. The XDNA 2 NPU is clocked for 50 AI TOPS, and meets Microsoft Copilot+ requirements.

Next up, is the Sapphire X870EA Wi-Fi PhantomLink Edition motherboard. This is Sapphire's first high-end motherboard in years. The Socket AM5 motherboard is based on the flagship AMD X870E chipset, and offers premium connectivity and I/O features. It's also designed to visually match the company's latest Radeon RX 9070 XT NITRO+ graphics card, but its most striking feature is PhantomLink. This is a backside power delivery feature similar to ASUS BTF. The main PCI-Express 5.0 x16 slot has a trailing power delivery slot that relays power from a 12V-2x6 power input located next to the 24-pin ATX connector on the motherboard. This may not be a complete backside I/O motherboard, but at least keeps the graphics card free from any power cables sticking out. To use PhantomLink, however, you need a compatible graphics card, and Sapphire showed us the Radeon RX 9070 XT NITRO+ PhantomLink Edition.

ADATA's gaming division—XPG—has exhibited brand-new SFF-ready cases; as spin-offs from existing Valor Mesh and Valor Air product lines. So far, the Taiwanese manufacturer has released mid-tower options. At Computex 2025, company representatives presented NANO-sized offerings—in particular, a white Air demo unit was endorsed by Jensen Huang. Several XPG items were blessed with the NVIDIA chief's signature—likely coinciding with ADATA's aggressive marketing of new products being (certified) ideal fits for NVIDIA GeForce RTX 50-series graphics cards.

The Valor NANO microATX case series was developed alongside the brand's PYMCORE SFX power supply product line. As mentioned earlier today, these ultra-compact SFX PSUs can be installed at the front of XPG's freshly revealed Nano enclosures—"allowing longer GPUs to fit into SFF builds without compromising performance." A Valor Mesh Nano-based demonstration build was configured with an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5080 Founders Edition card—occupying only 304 mm of a max. 370 mm length restriction.

Sharkoon's Computex 2025 booth was jam-packed. From the previously covered peripherals, to cases and power supplies. Now we are looking at the latter. The company has launched VK4 ARGB mid-tower, the MK7 ARGB microATX chassis, the REBEL P15 power supply, and the prototype STEEL SHARK ARGB dual-chamber case. Each product emphasizes customizable lighting, great cooling potential, and simplified cable management. The VK4 ARGB, priced at €59.90, upgrades its Rainbow-LED counterpart by including four addressable RGB PWM fans and a four-port controller offering 14 illumination modes. Its front panel features a high-permeability mesh design to maximize airflow. Inside, there is support for up to eight fans in total and radiators measuring up to 360 mm. Builders will appreciate space for either two 3.5-inch hard drives or four 2.5-inch SSDs, as well as a power-supply tunnel that keeps cables hidden for a tidy appearance. On top, two USB 3.0 ports and a TRRS audio jack provide modern connectivity, while dust filters on every intake area make maintenance easy.

On display Corsair also showcases a FRAME 5000D with an optional Xeneon Edge LCD add-on side panel.

Simplifying front panel connections there is a color matched unified front I/O cable (or FIO cable). These unified FIO cables are also color-matched to the case model, blending in seamlessly into the background instead of adding noticeable contrast.

ASUS silently releases its first AMD B850 motherboard featuring the GC-HPWR connector, allowing it to deliver up to 600 W to a compatible graphics card without needing external cables. The TUF Gaming B850 BTF Wi-Fi W motherboard supports Ryzen 7000, 8000, and 9000 CPUs, including the latest 9950X3D, and offers all the typical features expected from a mid-tier AMD motherboard. On a quick look over main specifications, we can see it uses a 14+2+1 power stage design and an eight-layer PCB, supports DDR5 memory up to 8000 MT/s, PCIe 5.0 x16 with updated Q-Release system, one Gen 5 M.2 slot, ALC1220P audio, and BIOS flashback.

ASUS first created its Back to the Future (BTF) lineup with the intention of moving all motherboard connectors to the back of the PCB. While this makes installation and cable routing a bit more challenging, it results in a much tidier-looking motherboard and a cleaner overall system look without the usual mess of wires. BTF-compatible GPUs help eliminate power cables by replacing the standard 8-pin or 12VHPWR connectors with a metal plug at the end of the PCIe slot. ASUS is now bringing this connector to its more affordable B850 boards, which could help make this rare GPU power solution more common. As a BTF board, it hides all cable connectors on the front—even for GPU power as we said, you'll find the GC-HPWR connector at the end of the PCIe x16 slot, just below the RAM slots. However, you don't have to use this feature—the motherboard works fine with any modern graphics card, whether it relies on the new power option or standard connectors. That said, to achieve a completely cable-free setup, you'll need to pair it with one of ASUS's BTF graphics cards. This currently limits you to the RTX 40-series, as ASUS has yet to release any 50-series BTF cards. The fact that ASUS is adding this new type of connector to midrange motherboards could suggest that it plans to expand the BTF lineup in the future. ASUS didn't reveal pricing or any release date information for the TUF Gaming B850 BTF Wi-Fi W motherboard.

CHIEFTEC introduces the Hunter 3 (GS-03B-OP) and Night Hunter (GS-03B-BLK-OP) gaming cases, both supporting back-connect motherboards (ASUS BTF and MSI Project Zero compatible). The CHIEFTEC Hunter 3 improves on the Hunter 2 series, featuring a wider, sturdier chassis measuring 440 x 238 x 450 mm, tempered glass side panel, a perforated steel front panel (with removable dust filter), and improved radiator support. Details of ASUS' next generation BTF 2.0 (BTF stands for Back to the Future) platform have appeared online, courtesy of Andreas Schilling from HardwareLuxx. The editor posted pictures from an ASUS presentation over at Bluesky that details one major change to the power connector design, which will make the BTF 2.0 graphics cards compatible with non BTF systems. This suggests that ASUS might consider offering more graphics cards with BTF 2.0 support, since they can be used in any system with the proposed changes.

As you may or may not know, the first generation BTF graphics cards ended up with a power connector at the rear, bottom edge of the graphics cards, placed somewhat behind the PCIe gold fingers. The cards also lacked any other power connectors, which made them exclusive for BTF builds. To solve this conundrum, ASUS moved its GC-HPWR PCB power connector up on the PCB, making sure it clears any motherboard components. However, instead of increasing the height of the motherboard BTF 2.0 connector, the company provides a small adapter that plugs in between the motherboard and graphics card, to make its new BTF 2.0 cards compatible with any system.

ASUS extended its line of motherboards at CES 2025, featuring a design that moves power connectors to the back of the board. The company calls this approach "BTF" (Back To Future), aiming to improve cable management in PC builds. The TUF GAMING B850-BTF WIFI and B860-PLUS WIFI models demonstrate this new design, which can deliver up to 600 watts through the motherboard to support modern graphics cards. The boards include Wi-Fi 7 connectivity, PCIe 5.0 support, and multiple M.2 slots for storage devices. In the high-end segment, ASUS presented the ROG Maximus Z890 HERO BTF, compatible with Intel's LGA1851 processors. This board features DDR5 memory support, dual Thunderbolt 4 ports, and tools like Q-Release for easier graphics card removal.

For professional users, ASUS released the ProArt Z890 CREATOR WIFI, equipped with Thunderbolt 4 ports and specialized cooling systems. The company also showed new gaming-focused models including the ROG Crosshair X870E APEX, for the fastest Ryzen 9000X3D series gaming processors. The motherboards share several technical features across different price points. All models support PCIe 5.0 for graphics cards and storage, while most include Wi-Fi 7 capabilities. ASUS has added tool-free installation mechanisms for M.2 drives across the lineup. ASUS has not yet announced pricing or specific release dates for the new motherboards. The BTF design represents a significant change in motherboard layout, though it will require compatible PC cases and power supplies to function as intended. This marks one of the first major changes to standard motherboard design since the ATX format became common in the 1990s.
