Hello everyone, RoadCraft's demo has been rolling for the past week, and seeing so many of you give a try to our game filled us with joy! Thousands of you downloaded and tried out the demo and you covered altogether more than 2 billion km on the demo, which is absolutely awesome! We've custom-made this demo to give you a sample of the gameplay and vehicles, but be assured that you're far from having seen everything! Now, we are focused on carefully reading your feedback, and we want to address some of them before we release the full game on May 20th.

First, the elephant in the room, the absence of fuel consumption
We know that fuel consumption is a core element in SnowRunner or Expeditions. But RoadCraft is a totally new experience for us, in the simulation field. It has been developed on a new iteration of our engine, and its technical specifications differ from those of our other games. For those reasons, it doesn't offer the same gameplay features. Map exploration and traversal is not as central, rebuilding and reshaping terrain are. When we started the development, we initially had a fuel consumption system, however this mechanic was tedious and didn't bring anything interesting to the core gameplay of the game. However, it doesn't mean we want to throw away the idea without any reflection, and especially after seeing all your feedback on it. We might think about integrating fuel consumption, but later on, in a new game mode for example.

Today, Focus Entertainment and Saber Interactive premiered a new trailer for their highly-anticipated third-person action game Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2.

The trailer reveals a whole new PvE experience and the return of the beloved PvP mode from the first game. Embracer Group AB, a highly controversial Swedish gaming company, has started to sell off a wider portfolio of internal development studios—Jason Schreier (via Bloomberg) reported on speculative details late last month, but some of the suggested/initial numbers have changed since then. Yesterday, web sleuths noticed that Saber Interactive's official site no longer sports any references to Embracer. The latter has just announced—to investors—that Saber is being sold to Beacon Interactive (a private investment collective). Interestingly, this organization was started by Matthew Karch; a Saber Interactive co-founder. Their agreement signals Embracer's withdrawal from Russian territories—this morning's financial call revealed that this decision will assist in the reduction of the company's "geopolitical risk."

The latest announcement did not mention Gearbox Entertainment—Embracer will retain ownership of several studios, but the Borderlands developer is expected to be sold off in the near future. Insiders reckon that Embracer leadership was weighing up options as far back as last September, following a period of financial insecurity. Returning to the present day—Lars Wingefors, co-founder and Group CEO of Embracer stated: "I am pleased that we have found a win-win solution for Embracer and the parts of Saber that now will leave us. This transaction puts both companies in a stronger position to thrive going forward. Embracer is now able to discontinue all operations in Russia, according to a previous board decision, while safeguarding many developer jobs under new independent ownership. At the same time, we keep key companies, valuable IPs and future publishing rights. Cash flow is immediately improved, and we remain committed to reducing net debt."

Everyone in the team is on deck, watching streams, videos, and reading your comments and reviews. We're happy to see many of you enjoying Expeditions and what it's trying to achieve, although we also are aware and understand that some of you aren't satisfied with the game's current state.

Our current priorities
Some of your most recurrent feedback is about UI/UX. We cannot overhaul it in one night, but this is a big focal point for the team right now, and it will be improved through several updates. Our first update releases with this message, to bring some immediate improvements. We're also hard at work on bug reports, and the March 7 patch brings a lot of fixes based on your feedback. Be assured that we'll continue to squash as many technical issues as we can in the coming updates. We've also noticed many requests for a photo mode in Expeditions, and we're glad to add it with today's update. It only needed a few extra days of cooking!

2K today announced that WWE 2K Battlegrounds, the arcade-style brawler that will bring over-the-top WWE action to a new level of intensity, will release worldwide on September 18, 2020 for the PlayStation 4 system, the Xbox One family of devices, including the Xbox One X and Windows PC via Steam, Nintendo Switch system and Stadia. Featuring a roster of more than 70 WWE Superstars and Legends at launch, with additional Superstars to be released thereafter, WWE 2K Battlegrounds is now available for pre-order in digital formats and at participating retailers.
