The Outer Worlds 2 Set to Take Off on October 29

If you thought Halcyon was bad, just wait until you visit Arcadia. In the The Outer Worlds 2 Direct, we provided a closer look at The Outer Worlds 2—Obsidian's signature satire and storytelling cranked to eleven. From branching chaos to faction-fueled futures, everything unfolds across Arcadia: a lawless new frontier where your choices cut deeper, the stakes hit harder, and the corporations somehow got even worse. Bigger choices, weirder science, stranger weapons, and even worse decisions. Just the way we like it. Cut off from Earth, Arcadia is a colony cracking under pressure, torn apart by space-time rifts, shifting alliances, and three power-hungry factions locked in a war for control. It's louder, riskier, and more unpredictable than anything the Halcyon system ever threw at you.

You've been sent in as an Earth Directorate agent, but how you handle the mission—who you help, hinder, or exploit—is entirely your call. Build your character with expanded traits, flaws, and backgrounds that shape every decision and unlock new ways to fight, sneak, talk, or blow things up. Arcadia isn't just bigger. It's meaner, messier, and more reactive than ever. The only thing standing between it and total collapse? You. Probably.

ASRock Showcased Radeon RX 9070 XT "Taichi White" OC Concept Card with Built-in LCD Panel

ASRock revealed its Radeon RX 9070 XT Taichi OC flagship card at CES 2025—at the time, TechPowerUp staffers quickly realized that this design was outfitted with a 12V-2x6 power connector. Up until early 2025, this connection standard was mostly associated with NVIDIA GeForce 40 and 50-series graphics cards. ASRock and Sapphire have taken the unusual step of deploying premium RDNA 4 GPU-based models that sport 12V-2x6 connectors; breaking away from a traditional usage of 8-pin power delivery channels. The Radeon RX 9070 XT Taichi OC SKU arrived with a new aesthetic; consisting of various gunmetal gray shades, gear graphics, and ARGB lighting zones. Visitors to the company's Computex 2025 booth were dazzled by plethora of new products—most notably: brand-new Radeon RX 9060 XT models.

Unfortunately, TPU's photographer did not notice a very special current-gen Taichi spin-off. Apparently, the Taiwanese manufacturer has absorbed some inspiration from a nearby rival's "Spectral White" line: PowerColor. ASRock's "Taichi White 16 GB OC Concept Card" seems to stick with existing overclocked Radeon RX 9070 XT specifications (including a 3.1 GHz boost clock), but the firm's engineering team has integrated an LCD information window. This built-in-display was not powered up—for obvious reasons—but industry watchdogs reckon that (speculative) finalized retail examples will demand higher prices of entry, due to this extra provision. Company representatives—in attendance at last week's Computex event—have disclosed only a bare minimum of details. Top brass could be weighing up Taichi White's future; with an escape beyond concept phases—maybe in limited edition form.

Zalman Showcases Magnetic DF Fan Series & ARGB-lit TXM2 View PSU

Zalman has debuted its ZM-DF120 fan series at Computex 2025; with an emphasis on reducing cable clutter and easy installation. This is enabled by a magnetic mounting system and per-unit pogo pin interfaces. Similar designs have emerged from rival companies in the recent-ish past; eventually leading to ugly legal battles. The South Korean manufacturer is (bravely) stepping into this arena with its heavily ARGB-lit ZM-DF120 120 mm PWM fan options; showcased in black and white finishes. Side infinity mirror panels are hyped as providing dazzling visual effects. According to specification placards, fan speed range is 600-2000RPM (±10%). Maximum noise level is 34.5 dB (±10%), and max. air flow is 70.05 CFM (±10%). Zalman did not list any static pressure data. As expected, their ZM-DF120 fans leverage a hydro bearing platform.

Following in the footsteps of the 2023 Starfield Direct and 2024 Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Direct, this year we will again have a double feature, with the Xbox Games Showcase immediately followed by The Outer Worlds 2 Direct.

It all begins with our annual Xbox Games Showcase, bringing you a look at upcoming titles from across our first-party studios, in addition to incredible new titles from our third-party partners across the globe. Aledia to Showcase FlexiNova at Display Week 2025 — A Customizable MicroLED Platform for Next-Gen Screens

At Display Week 2025, Aledia, the leader in nanowire and 3D silicon-based microLED display technology, will showcase FlexiNOVA - a new product-ready platform built on its proprietary nanowire microLED technology and designed to scale production of next-gen displays. With its first industrial chip format now defined and available for sampling in 6 V and 9 V variants starting in H2 2025, FlexiNova empowers OEMs and display makers to integrate microLEDs into devices as diverse as smartwatches, automotive dashboards, luxury TVs and ultra-high-resolution monitors while maximizing power efficiency.

To bring microLED to mass production, performance alone isn't enough—industrial viability is key. Until now, microLEDs have mostly stayed in the lab due to high costs and manufacturing challenges for chips smaller than 30 µm. FlexiNOVA removes these barriers, making it easier for manufacturers to transition to microLED displays, which are brighter, more energy-efficient and have a longer battery life than OLED and LCD. What makes FlexiNOVA stand out is its flexibility: chip size, shape and power usage can be tailored to product needs without sacrificing performance.

Pigeons at Play & Devolver Digital Reveal "Mycopunk" - Steam Demo Available Now

Hey everyone! Here we are announcing Mycopunk. It's a game. There's a lot of cool stuff in it. We could tell you all about it, but that's a lot of work. So you should stop reading and go play the DEMO. In case you've decided to keep reading (why??) let's take a look at some of the things in Mycopunk that we're most excited about. Mycopunk was born from our desire for a fun (FUN) co-op FPS that makes players want to keep coming back without any of that FOMO shit. This mostly manifested in three ways: shooting stuff is fun, progression is interesting, and [REDACTED].

Weapons
If you've played the demo you'll know your weapons feel good to shoot and carving up enemies is fun. If you disagree, come tell us to our face in the Mycopunk discord. Most of us don't bite. Some weapons are what you'd expect. The SMG is an SMG. It shoots bullets. But from the beginning we wanted to have some really weird, cool ass weapons. One of our favorites is the Swarm Launcher—it launches a swarm (no way) of pellets that hover above the ground and will dive down on enemies when you release the trigger. Some of the Swarm Launcher's upgrades let it do some really cool stuff, but we'll get to that later. We have four guns for you to play around with in this demo, and on release you'll have many more. Those guns are SECRET. For now…

Stoic CEO Celebrates Towerborne's Launch - via Xbox Game Preview

Towerborne is available now in Xbox Game Preview on Xbox Series X|S, Windows PC, Cloud, Game Pass, and as an Xbox Play Anywhere title. It's a big moment for all of us at Stoic (Banner Saga Trilogy), and we wanted to take a moment to talk about our journey so far—and where Towerborne is going next. At its core, Towerborne is a new kind of Looter Brawler—side-scrolling, pick-up-and-play combat fused with deep ARPG progression. You take on the role of an Ace, a spirit-forged hero sworn to defend the Belfry, humanity's last refuge. Venture solo or squad up in online co-op (or couch co-op on Xbox!); every swing, every loot drop, and every Umbra companion you recruit pushes back the darkness beyond those tower walls.

Our release via Xbox Game Preview marks a watershed moment in Towerborne's journey, a game we started building years ago. That early spark of imagination grew into the world you're stepping into today. Yesterday's release also brings a sizable update that deepens progression through the new Class Mastery system, reshapes the world map with dozens of handcrafted missions, and introduces fresh Umbra, legendary gear, and a formidable new foe.

The game was Horizon Forbidden West and the TV was a modified Neo QLED 8K display set enabled with the following features: Auto Low Latency Mode (ALLM), Variable Refresh Rate (VRR), and FreeSync Premium Pro. The PC was from MAINGEAR and used an AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D CPU and an AMD Radeon RX 9070 XT GPU. The game supports the Steam platform which allows analytics to be shown and confirming the 120 Hz operation. The game was rendered at 5K and was then internally upscaled using AMD ML-based FidelityFX Super Resolution 3 technology.

The signal was sent to the TV using HDMI 2.1b with DSC support and the impressive smooth visuals attracted a lot of attention from visitors, especially those that were already aware of the game, which is visually very impressive. In the center of the booth was the latest 8KA "sizzle reel" which includes video provided by member company Imax featuring some impressive content scanned from its 70 mm film stock. BZBGear, another 8KA member was showing its range of switches, splitters and HDBaseT transmitters and receivers which all support 8K.
