The Outer Worlds 2 Set to Take Off on October 29

If you thought Halcyon was bad, just wait until you visit Arcadia. In the The Outer Worlds 2 Direct, we provided a closer look at The Outer Worlds 2—Obsidian's signature satire and storytelling cranked to eleven. From branching chaos to faction-fueled futures, everything unfolds across Arcadia: a lawless new frontier where your choices cut deeper, the stakes hit harder, and the corporations somehow got even worse. Bigger choices, weirder science, stranger weapons, and even worse decisions. Just the way we like it. Cut off from Earth, Arcadia is a colony cracking under pressure, torn apart by space-time rifts, shifting alliances, and three power-hungry factions locked in a war for control. It's louder, riskier, and more unpredictable than anything the Halcyon system ever threw at you.

You've been sent in as an Earth Directorate agent, but how you handle the mission—who you help, hinder, or exploit—is entirely your call. Build your character with expanded traits, flaws, and backgrounds that shape every decision and unlock new ways to fight, sneak, talk, or blow things up. Arcadia isn't just bigger. It's meaner, messier, and more reactive than ever. The only thing standing between it and total collapse? You. Probably.

Digital Eclipse Unveils Mortal Kombat: Legacy Kollection, Launching Later This Year

At Digital Eclipse, we specialize in restoring historic games for modern consoles, giving legendary classics the respect they deserve. As you might imagine, we get a lot of requests from fans, and for many years now, the overwhelming number-one request has been…"MORTAL KOMBAAAAAAAAAT!" That's why we were so excited to reveal in this week's State of Play presentation that we're partnering with our friends Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment to bring Mortal Kombat: Legacy Kollection to PC and consoles later in 2025.

CD Projekt RED Teases Upcoming Cyberpunk 2077 v2.3 Patch - Could be Substantial DLC Pack

Last March, CD Projekt RED (CDPR) announced the end of developing major content updates for Cyberpunk 2077. Instead, a smaller group would concentrate on pushing out smaller batches post-launch content. At the time, international studio priorities were shifting to next-gen productions—namely The Witcher 4 (Poland), and a Cyberpunk sequel (North America). The last multi-platform patch—version 2.21, consisting mostly of fixes and improvements—arrived on January 23. Almost half a year later, industry watchers have noticed intriguing Virtuos employee activity on LinkedIn—indicating some sort of "unannounced Cyberpunk 2077 DLC" collaboration with CDPR. Lately, this contract developer is best known for its modernization/remastering of Bethesda's classic The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion (2006) open world RPG.

During a mid-week "REDstreams—Cyberpunk 2077 on Nintendo Switch 2" live broadcast, Alicja Kozera—a company senior community manager—fielded queries from the community. One individual brought up the subject of rumored future DLC—Kozera responded: "I can tell you right now, we are planning another part for the game. The last one wasn't the (final) one." Yesterday evening, Marcin Momot—CDPR's Global Community Director—outlined a loose schedule, regarding an upcoming preview: "we're not done yet! Stay tuned for more info about the next Cyberpunk 2077 update coming later this month. We'll start spilling the beans closer to the release of patch 2.3 (that's its name), so for now, we ask for a bit more patience. Let the team cook!" Naturally, Virtuos has not been named as a collaborator. CDPR is no stranger to outsourcing; as revealed in a recent CyberPunk 2077 Switch 2 build discussion. Additionally, Saber Interactive was roped in as the primary porter of The Witcher 3 onto the original Switch hybrid console.

The Witcher 4's Director Talks About Unreal Engine 5 Tech Demo Running at 60 FPS on PS5

We at CD Projekt Red are collaborating with Epic Games to push open-world game design further than ever before, and we wanted to share our progress with the gaming community through The Witcher 4 Unreal Engine 5 Tech Demo—a showcase of how we're bringing more life, depth, and reactivity to the Continent than ever before. This isn't gameplay of The Witcher 4, but we still wanted to incorporate CD Projekt Red's signature storytelling into the tech demo, showing our new protagonist Ciri in the midst of a dangerous monster contract. We also reveal the never-before-seen region of Kovir, a rugged land where cities are built on trade and keep a careful distance from the military conflicts that plague the rest of the north.

But the focus of this tech demo is just that—tech—and we were proud to show it live on stage, running at 60 frames per second on a PlayStation 5. The tools highlighted won't just power The Witcher 4, but will also be shared with the wider video game development community through Unreal Engine 5. The tech we're creating with Epic will benefit the entire industry, ultimately bringing a better experience to players.

Hello Games Introduces No Man's Sky BEACON Expansion

Not only that but we are releasing a Nintendo Switch 2 version ready for launch of the new console tomorrow on June 5th. Players can become town mayor and take ownership of multiple settlements. You can construct buildings and upgrade each one, with new building types like jukebox bars where you can choose the music, merchants where you can build custom starships or even ponds you can chill and fish at.

The most recent race introduced to No Man's Sky, these large towns are built in their own image, an identifiable robotic style, all metal and mechanics. Unique Autophage building parts can be constructed in your own base and add a very hard sci-fi style to your dwellings and constructions. For the ambitious Traveller, multiple settlements can now be owned and managed by one Overseer, so for instance you won't need to abandon your existing charges to bring these new robotic citizens under your wing.

Jensen Huang on Switch 2's Custom NVIDIA SoC: "Unlike Anything We've Ever Built Before"

Nintendo's Switch 2 hybrid console is due to arrive at retail tomorrow (June 5), and pre-launch marketing campaigns are in full swing. The Japanese gaming giant has called in a high profile partner—Jensen Huang—to add some surprisingly technical heft during hype festivities. At this stage in time, NVIDIA's Tegra "T239" chipset is a well known quantity—thanks to years of leaked "internal info," and disabled examples turning up for close analysis in China. Industry experts did not anticipate Nintendo's fairly frank discussions that covered Switch 2's hardware capabilities. The Nintendo "Creator's Voice" video series has featured a number of high-profile third-party software development buddies (including CD Projekt RED), but yesterday's Team Green CEO contribution received widespread press attention.

Jensen paid tribute to Satoru Iwata, a former and much missed Nintendo president. Their collaboration started during the era of OG Switch development: "he wanted to create something no one had seen before. A console powerful enough for big, cinematic games—but small enough to take anywhere. It sounded impossible. But that vision became the original Nintendo Switch. We lost Iwata-san before the launch, but his clarity, his purpose, it still inspires our work every day. Together, we poured everything into that system." As mentioned back in April, NVIDIA dedicated significant resources into making their latest "technical marvel."

Stig Asmussen's Giant Skull Studio Signed as Developer of Single-player Dungeons & Dragons IP

Stig Asmussen formed Giant Skull not long after his departure from Respawn Entertainment. In a Spring 2024 announcement, the veteran developer—of Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order (2019) and God of War 3 (2010) fame—revealed a main goal: the creation of "gameplay-driven, story immersed" action adventure AAA games. In addition, the new outfit tasked themselves with the building of "captivating worlds." Yesterday, Wizards of the Coast revealed that Asmussen and colleagues were actively working on an unnamed single player experience, under the licensed "Dungeons & Dragons" banner. Unlike a current and very popular D&D title, Giant Skull's project will head down a different path. Since launching around late summer 2023, Baldur's Gate 3 has attracted critical acclaim and healthy sales figures—Larian's RPG partnership with Wizards of the Coast will not continue, as outlined a month and a half ago.

Giant Skull's untitled game remains a largely unknown quantity; early details include an Unreal Engine 5 foundation, and an eventual multi-platform release—on PC and consoles. A larger dose of official information will trickle out "at a later date." Asmussen provided a succinct statement of intent: "our talented and experienced team at Giant Skull is built on creativity and curiosity. Our goal is to craft a rich new Dungeons & Dragons universe filled with immersive storytelling, heroic combat and exhilarating traversal that players will fully embrace." John Hight—Wizards of the Coast and Hasbro digital gaming president—added: "Stig and the team at Giant Skull are exactly the type of exceptionally talented creators we want to work with, and I'm so happy to be reuniting with him on this new project. In our time working together on God of War I got to see firsthand Stig's artistry and expertise, and he and the Giant Skull team are the perfect fit for our new game. World building and storytelling is in our DNA, and this collaboration reflects our evolution and commitment to our Playing to Win Strategy, building a stronger presence in digital play. We look forward to revealing more about this brand-new Dungeons & Dragons game in the future."

CD Projekt Red Believes Cyberpunk 2077 Switch 2 Version is Superior to Past-gen Builds

Charles Tremblay, CD Projekt RED's Technology Vice President, has been fielding questions from members of the press—regarding the forthcoming Switch 2 version of Cyberpunk 2077: Ultimate Edition. Large portions of the company's Polish and North American/Canadian teams are concentrating on next-gen projects (respectively, Witcher 4 and "Cyberpunk 2"), but a smaller group has worked on porting a current sci-fi title onto Nintendo's NVIDIA Custom SoC-powered hybrid console. Despite arriving almost five years ago, Cyberpunk 2077 has remained a firm favorite—especially as a gauge of hardware capabilities, across PC and home console platforms. Since then, the developer's in-house REDengine has been dropped from primary activities. Epic's ubiquitous Unreal Engine 5 will serve as the technological foundation for future CD Projekt RED IPs.

In an interview conducted by IGN, Tremblay outlined the challenges his team faced when dealing with REDengine 4 and Switch 2: "we have very key people in here that know exactly how to make Cyberpunk run. Cyberpunk is built for x86 with old PC architecture. So, from the beginning this was completely different. Lots of changes had to be done at the engine level, all the shaders (are in a) different language. We had to convert everything, some HLSL to GLSL. (The Switch 2 utilizes) a very, very different architecture." In another Q&A session (with NintendoLife), the Tech VP mentioned a roping in of external assistance (from Hungary and Japan): "all development is being done in-house, with support from Yigsoft when it comes to incorporating the Nintendo Switch 2 specific features, and support from Nintendo when it comes to overcoming all the fun challenges that come with creating for new hardware."

Funcom Details Dune: Awakening's Rentable Private Server System

Greetings soon-to-be-awakened, today, just about 72 hours before the floodgates open, we can finally share with you that rentable private servers will be available from head start launch on June 5th! We've previously communicated that private servers are for post-launch, but we're happy to share that progress has been faster than expected. We do, however, want to manage expectations about how private servers work in Dune: Awakening. As you know, this is not your typical survival game.

Why private servers work differently in Dune: Awakening
Dune: Awakening is powered by a unique server and world structure, something we went in-depth on in a recent blog post. In short: each server belongs to a World consisting of several other servers, and each of those share the same social hubs and Deep Desert. This allows us to retain a neighborhood-like feel to the Hagga Basin and provide persistent, freeform building, and other server-demanding mechanics you typically see in survival games. We combine this with the large-scale multiplayer mechanics you would expect to find in MMOs where hundreds of players meet each other in social hubs and the Deep Desert to engage in social activities, trade, conflict, and more.

Finished in the Hatsune Miku color scheme, the TUF Gaming K3 Gen II Hatsune Miku Edition gaming keyboard makes a stunning first impression. Per-key RGB LED illumination with up to 16.8 million colors, customizable through ASUS Aura Sync, lets you personalize the look of the board. But can you truly say from the bottom of your heart that Miku is adorable if you stray too far from her signature colors?

People Can Fly Suspends Development of "Gemini" & "Bifrost" Projects

Today (June 1) we made a very difficult decision to suspend the development of project Gemini and project Bifrost—the relevant current reports have been released to the market. The suspension of the Gemini project is a consequence of the fact that the Publisher has not presented us with a draft of the subsequent content rider to the Publishing Agreement covering the terms and conditions of further milestones on project Gemini and the lack of communication from the Publisher as to its willingness to continue or terminate the Gemini project.

Project Bifrost was suspended due to the above and the analysis of the Group's cash flow, which showed a lack of prospects for securing organizational resources and funds necessary to continue the production and release of this project. As a result, we have to significantly regroup as a studio and scale down our teams, which hurts the most. We wish to express our deepest regret and sadness over how these events have unfolded and our sincere gratitude for everyone's contribution up to this point.
