PowerColor Radeon AI PRO R9700 Card Design Reminiscent of AMD's Reference Renders

Last week, AMD introduced its Radeon AI PRO R9700 32 GB professional graphics card—representing the RDNA 4 generation's first foray into non-gaming territories. The TechPowerUp team encountered board partner variants on the showroom floor, with GIGABYTE and ASRock exhibiting samples with blower-style cooling solutions. At the time, Team Red's reference design was only visible in promotional/artistic renders. According to the company's official product page, this particular model is "not available for purchase." AMD made similar claims during the early days of—related Navi 48 GPU-based—Radeon RX 9070 XT and RX 9070 cards. Months later, Chinese hardware enthusiasts picked up physical "Made-By-AMD" (MBA) examples via murky second hand market channels.

At some point this week, PowerColor's web presences were updated with a semi-familiar sight: an almost direct interpretation of the AMD Radeon AI PRO R9700 reference card. The Taiwanese AIB has removed "AI" and "PRO R9700" text from their variant's shroud design, and applied a customary "PowerColor" logo and symbol sticker onto the lone blower fan's face. VideoCardz believes that pre-announcement renders and specification leaks had caused confusion across insider networks—hence the emergence of "Radeon RX 9070 XT(X) 32 GB" rumors, within the first quarter of 2025. PowerColor did not showcase its pro-grade at the recently concluded Computex trade event—instead, company representatives were tasked with hyping up incoming custom Radeon RX 9060 XT gaming cards, and a mysterious "REVA" prototype. At the time of writing, PowerColor has not issued any Radeon AI PRO R9700-related press material. AMD and manufacturing partners are expected to launch finalized products in July.

ADATA XPG Project INFINITY Exhibited at Computex - High Performance DDR5 UDIMM Built for AI

ADATA's XPG sub-brand is best known for producing gaming hardware, but Project INFINITY signals a significant diversification. Two demonstration sample DDR5 UDIMMs were mounted on an open plan build, at the company's Computex booth. Despite bearing XPG branding and gaming-oriented aesthetics, these memory modules are not wholly related to a freshly presented Lancer Neon DDR5 product line. Instead, ADATA has deemed Project INFINITY worthy of inclusion in their "AI Revolution" portfolio.

Impressive credentials are outlined in PR material: "XPG pushes overclocking to new heights with memory solutions that blend extreme performance, bold design, and sustainable materials. Project INFINITY delivers up to 9200 MT/s with 48 GB capacity per module, featuring RGB lighting and an infinity mirror heatsink for a stunning visual effect. For professional workloads." According to an accompanying placard, XPG's bare build utilizes an ultra-expensive ASUS ROG Maximus Z890 Hero mainboard foundation. Intel's Arrow Lake-S flagship CPU—Core Ultra 9 285K—drives the Project INFINITY-centric PC system. Appropriately, the XPG team has selected an ADATA Mars 980 BLADE Gen 5 M.2 SSD, for ultra-fast storage purposes. Hopefully, additional/refined Project INFINITY examples will turn up in the near future.

Intel Teases Upcoming Unveiling of "New Arc Pro GPUs" - Insiders Predict "Battlemage" B60 Card

Earlier in the week, reports indicated the potential introduction of an Intel Xe2 "Battlemage" B770 gaming graphics card at Computex 2025. Last night, a Team Blue tweet confirmed forthcoming product unveilings: "new Intel Arc Pro GPUs are on the way. See you in Taipei!" In the months leading up to this important trade event, industry watchdogs have drummed up speculation about "Battlemage's" future (or fate). Whispers of 24 GB VRAM-equipped variants emerged late last year—around late January, these theories were connected to an official leak: "3 new PCI IDs for BMG."

Unsurprisingly, VideoCardz has weighed in with some new inside track info—they propose that one of Intel's upcoming professional options will be an "Arc Pro B60 24 GB" model, aka "Developer Edition" (an alleged in-house reference). Despite Sparkle HQ downplaying recent "rogue claims," a company rep (in China) alluded to a possible May/June release of their own custom 24 GB "Battlemage" productivity-oriented card. VideoCardz has picked up on rumors, regarding the "Arc Pro B60's" internal setup. They propose Team Blue's selection of the familiar "BMG-G21" GPU; as used by their Arc Xe2 B580 12 GB and B570 10 GB designs. According to an unnamed inside source, this professional/workstation variant will stick with the usual 192-bit memory interface. Intel's Computex 2025 new product teaser provided a big clue about the speculated "B60" model's cooling solution.

NVIDIA RTX PRO 6000 Blackwell Workstation Edition PCB Layout Leaked By Insider

Over the past weekend, members of the Chiphell discussion board started posting truly NDA-busting photo material—one example made headlines a few days ago. A fairly convincing list of next-gen NVIDIA RTX PRO Blackwell series graphics cards appeared online just over a month ago; only a smattering of physical specimens have emerged since then. As pointed out by interested Chiphellers, Leadtek Chinese language websites have started listing a small selection of upcoming "Blackwell" generation professional SKUs.

The previously leaked PCB design was linked to Leadtek/NVIDIA's "blower-style" RTX PRO 6000 Blackwell Max-Q Workstation Edition 96 GB model. A brave Chiphell forumite has shared shots of another alleged internal component; a shorter PCB design has come to light—in VideoCardz's expert opinion, this stubby unit is destined to be contained within the Leadtek-made (non-Max-Q) RTX PRO 6000 Blackwell Workstation Edition enclosure. Official Team Green promotional renders have already presented this darker alternative to existing Founders Edition gaming-oriented siblings. According to VideoCardz, Team Green's Professional Blackwell series review embargo is still in effect and official launch window information is still not a publicly-known quantity. The freshly leaked bare PCB seems to borrow design elements—namely a dual-sided GDDR7 memory module mounting setup—from NVIDIA's familiar GeForce RTX 5090 Founders Edition model.

Sparkle Rep Mentions Arc Xe2 "Battlemage" Graphics Card Configured with 24 GB VRAM

Not long after Intel's launch of the Arc Xe2 "Battlemage" B580 12 GB graphics card design, insiders started generating noise about potential spin-offs bound for release in 2025. In theory, the speculated "B580 24 GB" variant could arrive as a workstation-oriented discrete graphics solution—possibly lined up as a next-gen entry within Team Blue's Arc Pro family. Three mysterious BMG (aka "Battlemage") PCI identifiers turned up at the end of January; sending online PC hardware debates into overdrive; one faction believed that Team Blue was readying fabled productivity-focused B-series cards—complete with enlarged pools of GDDR6 VRAM. Apparently, Sparkle's Chinese branch has provided comment on newer rumors—from March, according to VideoCardz. The Taiwanese manufacturer is a key Intel board partner in the field of Arc GPU-based graphics card products—across gaming and professional desktop lines. Unfortunately, the company's head office (in Taiwan) has dismissed "official" claims about a May/June launch of an unnamed 24 GB model. Sparkle's Chinese social media account engaged with members of the PC hardware community, and outlined an "original plan" to release something new within the second quarter of 2025—apparently the incoming card is "still being arranged."

NVIDIA Launches RTX PRO 6000 Blackwell Series Professional Graphics Cards

NVIDIA today launched the RTX PRO 6000 Blackwell series of professional graphics cards. These cards are based on the latest GeForce "Blackwell" graphics architecture, and the three chips the company already launched on it. Leading the pack, is the RTX PRO 6000, a card that completely maxes out the massive "GB202" silicon, featuring more shaders than even the GeForce RTX 5090, albeit at lower clock speeds. The idea behind this product is to give pro-vis users more shader power, driving a large amount of GDDR7 ECC memory. Specifically, the card comes with 24,064 CUDA cores across all 192 SM physically present on the silicon, besides 768 Tensor cores, 192 RT cores, 768 TMUs, and 192 ROPs. The card gets a humungous 96 GB of ECC GDDR7 memory across the chip's 512-bit wide memory interface, probably using 48 Gbit density memory chips. The card has a TGP of 600 W, making out the 12V2x6 power input. It comes with a board design resembling the RTX 5090.

Next up, is the RTX PRO 6000 Blackwell Max-Q. This card has essentially the same core-configuration as the RTX PRO 6000, but with a reduced TGP, and a simpler 2-slot board design that uses a lateral-blower. This card is meant for machines with multiple such cards installed, though something that isn't quite a rendering server. Lastly, there's the RTX PRO 6000 Server Edition. This card, again, has identical core-config to the others in the lineup, but with a board design optimized for rackmount servers and large rendering farms. The cooler relies on the rack's airflow for cooling.

PGL Investigating GeForce RTX 4080 GPU Driver Crash, Following Esports Event Disruption

The Professional Gamers League (PGL) showcased its newly upgraded tournament rig specification prior to the kick-off of their (still ongoing) CS2 Major Copenhagen 2024 esports event. As reported, over a week ago, competitors have been treated to modern systems decked out with AMD's popular gaming-oriented Ryzen 7 7800X3D CPU and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4080 graphics cards, while BenQ's ZOWIE XL2566K 24.5" 360 Hz gaming monitor delivers a superfast visual feed. A hefty chunk of change has been spent on new hardware, but expensive cutting-edge tech can falter. Virtus.pro team member—Jame—experienced a major software crash during a match against rival group, G2.

PCGamesN noted that this frustrating incident ended the affected team's chance to grab a substantial cash reward. Their report put a spotlight on this unfortunate moment: "in the second round of a best of three, Virtus Pro were a few rounds away from qualifying for the playoffs, only for their aspirations to be squashed through no fault of their own...Jame experiences a graphics card driver crash that irrecoverably steers the round in G2's favor, culminating in Virtus Pro losing the match 11-13. Virtus Pro would then go on to lose the subsequent tie-break match as the round was not replayed. In effect, the graphics card driver crash partly cost the team their chance at winning an eventual $1.25 million prize pool." PGL revealed, via a social media post, that officials are doing some detective work: "we wish to clarify the situation involving Jame during the second map, Inferno, in the series against G2. A technical malfunction occurred due to an NVIDIA driver crash, resulting in a game crash. We are continuing our investigation into the matter." The new tournament rigs were "meticulously optimized" and tested in the weeks leading up to CS2 Major Copenhagen 2024—it is believed that the driver crash was a random anomaly. PGL and NVIDIA are currently working on a way to "identify and fix the issue."
